Main insights from 2D/3D poroelastic analysis of tunnel excavation in low permeability anisotropic ground

Pore pressure evolution induced by tunnel excavation in low permeability anisotropic ground is investigated means of a fully coupled hydro-mechanical finite element simulation. The goal to explore the main trends pore on basis poroelastic analysis, taking into account: one hand, influence and face advance; other inherent anisotropy material. It shown that overpressures can be before passage face, depending on: consolidation time rock, rate degree both material initial stress state. Finally, discussion about at wall presented. An analysis performed order propose release for 2D models.
